Two Days of Fun

The day before I supposedly fly off to Norway turned out pretty good. 10 of us(Me, Shea Maine, Winston, Joanne, Wei Shen, Yeo Soon, Edwin, Jenn Shuinn, Jeffery and a new found friend Sandy) met up at Four Seasons though we had a mini request for no Chinese.

Me, Shea Maine, Winston and Joanne.

Jeffery, Wei Shen, Yeo Soon, Edwin and Jenn Shuinn.

We outside the restaurant getting ready to makan duckie duck. And ah! My new found friend, Sandy.

Come to think of it this was a gathering for all Concordians. The seniors, Shea Maine, Me, Jenn Shuinn and Edwin. And with the juniors, Wei Shen, Winston, Joanne and Jeffery. Talking all about the good old times.

Next, we went to Fredv for a drink near Tottenham Court Road. I had a margarita for the first time and it was yummy.

CHEERS! We had a variety. Seven Heavens, Margaritas, Planters Punchs and Mojitos.

Sandy and I. So poser la she. :P

Shea Maine, Edwin and Jeffery. Actually, they came from the hospital. To be doctors lah. :)

So, today, the 5 of us went for Korean. However, it was closed for something. Aihhhhhhhh. I was so looking forward to eating Korean. But we made our way to New Oxford Street and stumbled at this Chinese Restaurant serving Siew Long Pau. Yummmmmmy. :)

This was after lunch after we were fueled up. I don’t know why I looked so happy. Lol.

And Wei Shen and I. Seriously. I don’t really know why we look so happy. Must be the sugar rush. :)

All in all, the past 2 days has been quite fun and at least I had something to do too. Thanks guys.

Leaver’s Party

Finally, after 4 years in Imperial College, it seems that our reign has ended. Kinda nostalgic I have to say but we have to move on.

The 4th years with the cert from Kai.

The last remaining 4th years standing(clockwise) – Tock, Me, Nik, Kai, Charlotte, Yanti and Qi Zhen.

The ever sweet ex-secretary of Msoc, Charlotte with me.

Tock and me. Hahahaha. This is Tock’s first time smiling with his teeth!

Kai and me. Brothers forever.

All I can say that the Leaver’s Party was quite a good ending to my stay in London. Food was good and company was better. Everything went quite well and most of all the weather.

And off I go back to Norway which by the way is still snowing. Brrrrrrrr.

Bak Kut Teh Again

I had to make 2 portions of Yew Chai. I didn’t know they would eat so much.

Bak Kut Teh with an additional ingredient – tau pok.

Siew Ping’s meal I think.

The freshers. Clockwise – Me, Gopi, Kai, Siew Ping, Sze Hwei, Wayn and Zhern Yoong.

This time it was prepared in Imperial College London. This was made for the freshers and I certainly hoped that they enjoyed the meal. They ‘wa lapped’ everything. I was surprised that I had to prepare 2 yew chai’s as I thought guys normally don’t eat vegetables. Hahaha. All in good times.

A Sunday To Remember II

Part II of the Sunday. We are now in Buckingham Palace. The day was glorious. I just love it.

The statue outside Buckingham Palace. Gopi and I.Syn-In, Kai and Gopi as their bodyguard.

Syn-In, Kai and me.

Queen Victoria herself.

Gopi was trying to become a statue.

We trying to rule the world.

No idea what Gopi was doing with the lion’s tail. Very disturbing.

The 3 of us. All happy.

And trying to be cute here.

Last but not least, I would like to say thank you so much to Syn-In for the pictures. She did an amazing job with the pictures. Definitely, the photographer of the day. I will definitely remember this for a long long time. I certainly hoped you guys had fun as much as I did. Now, all back to work ya. :)

A Sunday To Remember

Sunday was a great day. Kai, Syn-In, Gopi(Kai’s friend) and I went out for dim sum today. They were ALL late as usual but oh well, dim sum was fine. After that, we wanted to take Gopi to see Buckingham Palace and also Syn-In since she herself never been there before. It was a fantastic day. The sun was out but it was cool. Loads of people. Gotta love this time of year. I think I will let the pictures say it all. :)

Gopi with his cool look.
Me enjoying the park.

Perfect weather.

Hmmmm. Very random I say.

What were you doing, Syn-In?

Awwwww. My little bro. You are just too adorable la.

Syn-In and Kai.

A hug from Gopi. Hmmmm. Disturbing.

This looks familiar.

My long lost buddy. ;)

Trying to be serious here. How’s my look? :P

We are just being cute here. Oh my. Over the top I say.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, nooooo, it’s just a squirrel.

We were picturing Buckingham Palace lifting off.

Gopi breaking my neck.

I got to say. That was a great lift. Hahaha. Thanks Gopi.

Mind you people out there. There is nothing going on!

Smile Kai. The winning smile. :)

On the phone.

Incredible day.

The 3 hoodies.

My little bro and I.

Kai looks red here. Lol! :D

The 4 heads.

The 4 foots.

Good boy Kai. Do not litter anywhere in the park. :) We all were heading towards Buckingham Palace.

To be continued. I have to get ready for bed since I have to go to College to start my work. Noooooooooo.

GBK

Oh yea! On Thursday, I went out with Siew Ping, Kai and Tock to GBK in Old Brompton Road for dinner. This was first time the ‘fresher’ went to the ultimate burger place. And my goodness. Wasn’t the restaurant near to Imperial. I wished it was opened like 2 years back. I also saw a shocked Cheryl too. :)
Food as usual was good and my lime milkshake. Yummy! Time to make me fat.

The 4 milkshakes we had. Starting from the top left(clockwise): Strawberry(Tock), Banana(Heng Kai), Chocolate(Siew Ping) and Lime(Mine). Siew Ping asked us to boycott Vanilla for some reason. Don’t ask me why.

My vension burger. A bit big for my mouth la. :)

Heng Kai and Siew Ping.

Tock and I. Ahem ahem. A bit the white and bright la, Siew Ping. :P

Group picture.

A Success!

Well, as you know that I have been talking about the meal I was suppose to cook for 6 people – Bak Kut Teh. It turned out pretty good. Everyone seemed to like it. Taste wise was fairly okay though I don’t know whether my tongue was a bit gila after eating a gum before the meal. But I suppose may be I had added too much mushrooms killing off some of the taste. I found it to be slightly less tasteless. I didn’t want to put too much soya sauce as people can add their own sauces if want it. My ‘salad’ – Yew Chai was very good. Yay. I love that veggie too. It is simple and just taste good.
Sorry, no pictures of the food. Everyone just dug in and makan. I was shocked. It wasn’t really a late dinner at all. Oh well. I’m happy that everyone liked it. Desserts were some Norwegian cookies which were yummy with Earl Grey tea. How british can we go. My cup of tea with the British accent.

From left to right: Karolina(Polish), Adrian(Malaysian) and Sam(Irish).

Ele(Italian) on the left and Nora(German) on the right. Quite an international mix I say.

Hello Sam. They were having a discussion on potato sacks. The pronunciation of sacks in German is sex?. That was a good laugh. Sorry, Nora.

All in all, the meal was good with great company. Nora did ask me what do I get out of this meal since I paid for everything? I was kinda shocked when she said that. Not many people often say that to me but it has been my honour and pleasure to cook for you guys. And besides, I like to cook but not doing up the dishes. So Nora, you kinda ‘paid’ in that sense when you did the dishes. I hope we can meet up soon when I get back. As they say, you give and take. Oh well, talking about taking, they were nice to make some buns for me during my trip to Roros. It was good as it has chocolate filling in it. It kinda frozen since it was about -23 degrees then. It was definitely worth going for that trip though I ponteng a Wednesday for that. Hehe.

Now, it is time for me to pack up and go to London.
