Utopia

Utopia – an imaginary island described in Sir Thomas More’s Utopia (1516) as enjoying perfection in law, politics, etc.

But I’m not talking about that heavenly place. More like it’s a place for terror and war. Shocking!

Those who have known me since Concord would know that I’m just an addict with this game. I seriously don’t know what the attraction or ‘dadah’ they have in this game is but I just like the dynamics of the game.

Meeting new friends and sharing the same idea to KILL KILL KILL gives me a chance to channel my anger and depression to regain my sanity. I know this is might be crazy talk but seriously, it has been part of my life for nearly 6 1/2 years and still going strong.

Gaining new online friends are also apart of the dynamics of the game. I get to meet hardcore, arrogant, conservative, friendly, outspoken, sexy(for the girl and yes girls do play this) and many more and more over just crazy people who has the same passion with me.

Seph: The king of Utopia in my opinion. He is a nutter but he certainly is one of the best in the game. I always oppose his decision into warring with the kingdoms we do but it turns out to be the best for the kingdom. So, it seems if I say yes to warring most probably we would lose and if I say no to warring most probably we would win this.

Eow: The oldest player around no offence to her. She is a mother of 3 I think and kick ass in the game. But she has always been a figure head of calm and patience. Not to mention, she is the Queen of my kingdom. Hebat hebat.

Pokguy: The first utopian player I have met in real life in Toronto. I never would have imagined that I would meet anyone face to face. He is very very cunning with his words and I still have to watch out for him. He is the only one who knows when I’m pissed, angry and sad. He messages me at the right time and till today, I’m still amazed with him. Thanks bro.

To be honest, I think they are even better than my real life friends. They care for me even I don’t know them personally and the best part, they always make laugh.

Day 2

Day 2. Another day of funful shopping. Just went out for 2 hours and I got a pair of trousers and shoes. So, I think I’m already completed for my work. All I need now is to get some shirts not too colourful.

Now, I’m checking for iPod speakers. Any recommendations tech people out there? Really need to get an idea what’s good out there. Thanks.

Shop Till I Drop

Today this week is the first day of my shopping spree. I have to get some shirts and trousers for work. These are just a trial-out for me and when I get a permanent job then I will go a bit up. Those who know me, you know what I like to go for. :P

Well, I started at 12 p.m and shopped till 4 p.m. I always love a good shopping spree. It makes me happy. I know it sounds so gay but hey, new clothes means new image man. :)

So, I got 4 pairs of trousers(3 from Next and 1 from M&S) and will might be returning the M&S one. It’s a bit of colour. You know I hate shops where they have a certain light which is different compared to sunlight. After you have purchased your clothes, you noticed that the colour isn’t the same as you imagine. Aihhhhhhhh.

I also got 2 shirts, 4 pairs of socks and a brolli for my sister. Hers was on the verge of destruction so I had to get one for her.

My next shopping item on my list is just a few more trousers, some strips or checkered shirts(though they make me look like Forest Gump) and a pair of shoes. Wish me luck.

Today

Cencaluk Chicken for tonight’s dinner. Well, I had to use up tonnes of stuff now in the fridge. Oh yea, I made my lemon cheesecake. I’m quite happy with it. It could have been slightly sweeter and lemony but it is better to eat things less sweet.

At the moment, I’m not feeling too well. I keep getting headaches these days though today I think I have been lacking of sleep. Also, I’m slightly depressed. Aihhhhhhhhh.

Linstead Dinner

I know it is slightly late but it is never too late to say thanks to the Linsteadians. I’m very touched for you guys inviting me over. Dinner was excellent and everyone has turned into proper chefs. :) I loved it. I was sooooooooo full. Thanks.

Though, Siew Ping going drenched. Hahahahahahaha. Remember ‘Sediakan payung sebelum hujan’ la. :D

The gang. L to R anticlockwise: Matt, Ohm, Qi Ting, Wayn, Zhern Yoong, Charlotte, Me, Megan, Siew Ping, Audrey, Chun Te and Xue Lieh.

Time To Say Goodbye

To all my great freshers. You certainly made my last year of my uni an enjoyable one eventhough I wasn’t in London much.

From the first time I saw you guys in the ICUMS forums, I was sure you all were crazy especially Heng Kai and Siew Ping who were spamming away with hmmmm spam. :) And yes, both of you are the top posters for your year in the forums. I checked it! Such spammers you are.

So, I met some of you guys at the Fresher’s Week. The most memorable one was bumping into Zhern Yoong. Being polite, we introduced ourselves and I certainly wasn’t impressed at all. Why? How dare he talk to me with his British accent. Hahahaha. Well, after a post talk with him, Zhern Yoong now switches off his accent when he speaks to me(and to everyone now of course). Oh wow. What a guy.

Then came the first MSoc OGM, I still remember giving you ‘virgins’ the first ultimate taste of Krispy Kremes. I’m sure you all had a good time gobbling down and I’m sure it made you really high. And being the little ones, you all were paiseh me getting a dozen for you guys. Remember, I would want something back in return. *Hint Hint* Just kidding. :D

Let’s fast forward 3 months later where you all(I think most) got into your new environment, settling in and attending your lectures(Yea right!!!). Most of you were enjoying and exploring the nightlife of London and continued by the drinking sessions till the wee hours of the night. That will be one of your memories of the uni life.

Then second term started. And all hell broke loose. You all were extremely busy with MNight. The long hours of rehearsals sucked the life of you or to put it in a better way, more like it was a part of your life then. I hope that the MNight journey has been a great experience and you all will carry it out the next show with the best you can do. Since(and hopefully) I might be based in Norway, I will be back for your show. Who knows? I’m just 1 1/2 hours flight away.

And finally, the last term of your first and fresher year. EXAMS! The stress put on yourselves and regretting all the lectures you have missed(due to a late drinknig night) were taking its toll. The long hours or more like camping in the library was certainly the PART of your life then. And of course, the famous story of Wayn nearly missing his exam. Also, the daily morning wake-up service I provided for Siew Ping which I do apologise it was late at times(but you didn’t miss any exams :D ).

All I have to say, you guys certainly concluded an excellent year for me. Hmmmm. Wait. More like concluded my uni life. I know this sounds soapy, mushy and all but hey, it has been an honour to have met you guys.

In no particular order:

  • Wayn: You certainly have been a comic relief for the year for me and especially Charlotte. Your mother is very proud of you one. Hahaha.
  • Zhern Yoong: You surely have changed a lot from our first infamous meet. Thanks a lot for everything and the recent discussion we had. Very insightful from you I have to admit.
  • Heng Kai: What can I say. I’m just speechless when it comes to you. My ever little brother.
  • Audrey: Though we haven’t talked much but you are seriously very scary. A good type to become Wayn’s mother. ;)
  • Siew Ping: This is also another case which I don’t know what to say. There are not enough words in the entire dictionary to describe you. You know why and I just can’t say enough thank yous to you.
  • Xue Lieh: I might have not been close but wei, can I attack you later in Utopia. :)
  • Megan: The extreme one. But hey, don’t be too hard on yourself. Just take it easy. Uni is suppose to be the best time of your student life.
  • Deng Wei: You know you are like another Winston Cheah. Hehe. The ever so polite one.
  • Shin Hung: The ‘clone’ of me. Well, tak pe la bro just rock on.
  • Adam and Qi Ting: Aero rules okay. Keep that in mind. YEA RIGHT!!!
  • Bryan: The ever apologetic one and it seems who fear seniors. Eh kawan, go for your lectures okay for next year.

To the others who I haven’t mentioned, I’m sorry. I might have met you briefly but I’m sure you will be a fine senior for the new coming freshers. Freshers(since they are already here) be nice to your seniors and I’m very sure you will take care of you. :P

I wish good luck and I’m sure you all will be fine la. And I can see you all sitting in a big corporate CEO chair. :)

Till our next meet.

Last Dinner Together

Ah ha. Mandarin Kitchen was the last meal together for the 4th years. The meal was long har mee with mixed seafood wrap with lettuce and king prawns and kai lan. Actually, it is making me hungry again. All was very good though I had a workout digging all the meat from the lobster legs. They are really tiny!

Charlotte has certainly been the wiser and older ear for listening to my moanings and complaints from Norway all these while. And previously, the OCD secretary for MSoc. She has done an amazing job with the Soc and left a legacy.

Tock too has been really a great companion(not gay okay). Through your whacky times but yet somehow you have your wise moments. You do have your charms at times too. Hahaha. Don’t worry Tock. That’s not an insult. You will be fine. Just be focus!!! :D

And after that we headed to Kiasu for our dessert. And guess what. We saw Soha, Iylia and the EE gang. The sweet meal was very good with additional gula melaka. :)

Well, all the best to you guys yar and oh, I better make an appointment with Changyong soon too. :)

Done and Genius I Am

I’M DONE!!! Finally, after suffering the pain for my experiment physically and mentally. But, a siao cha boh was there for helping me out through times of need and definitely all the encouragements kept me going. I really can’t say enough thank yous to you. :)

Drum roll please. I’m officially a GENIUS. Muahahahahahaha!(Self praise gets no praise. Yea yea! But I happy mar!) I managed to improve the performance of my wing and my Prof likes it a lot. And guess what. I gave some suggestions/improvements which could be carried out and he said he might consider all of those and will ask Imperial to send over some students to continue with my work. Take that!!! I was super happy when he said that. Who gets that remarks for projects man!

The fall back was that my presentation was a bit long and too informative. Well, I didn’t really pay too much attention to it because it was only just 10% of my entire report. What was important was the results I managed to obtain and that was it. Hehehehehe. Sounds so technical.

However, there is always a dark side. You all know that my infamous IC Prof said that my report was superficial. But aiya, don’t care la. Both sides will mark my paper and it seems they will take an average of them. So, I pray la this one in Norway will give me super high marks. :)

I have just printed about 300 pages but actually I think I have printed about 2 1/2 rims of paper. Don’t worry they will be all recycled for those which got rejected. Hey, if printing here is free why not take advantage kan? I know you all do it if you could so don’t give me that ‘Cheng Chun, you eco killer!!!’ look. :) I love this university. IC is so kiam siap for the amount we have been paying.

But now, it is almost time to say goodbye to Trondheim and I might be back in Norway for summer. It has certainly been one hell of an experience being here and a challenge to see me whether I’m cut out for this leaving my comfort zone.

I’ll Stand By You

Got caught up in a whirlpool of emotions. Will you stand by me?

Good Luck

I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I’m getting this exam fever from the juniors. Hahaha. I know I was done 4 months ago but they are all making me worried. Children these days. :)

“Good luck and all the best guys!”

I’m sure you all have done as much as you could and you’ll be fine. In 2 1/2 weeks you will be going somewhere so go all out and it will be all over soon. After all, you all are pelajar cemerlang!

On the side note, I want to be back in London now lar!!!
